What the claim covers, precisely.
We say "biodegradable tags," not "100 per cent biodegradable." The tag face material is biodegradable; the adhesive, like almost all pressure-sensitive adhesives, is not fully biodegradable. Tags meet the durability and labelling requirements of AS/NZS 3760:2022, at the same published prices as standard testing. Precise claims are worth more than impressive ones, imprecise supplier claims are exactly what greenwashing reviews catch.

Test tags are replaced every retest cycle, every 3 to 12 months depending on the environment, under AS/NZS 3760:2022. A 400-item site replaces 400 tags each retest cycle. Across a multi-site portfolio, that is thousands of pieces of single-use plastic annually, from one supplier line-item.
