ESG & sustainability

A measurable action, not a claim.

Sustainability reporting is moving from marketing to governance. What reporting teams need isn't more ambition statements — it's evidence of specific actions taken. PlanetSafe turns a routine compliance cost into exactly that.

The tag is small. The waste isn't.

Every retest cycle — every 3 to 12 months depending on your environment — every tag on every appliance is cut off and replaced. A typical 200-person workplace replaces roughly 400 tags a year. Across a multi-site portfolio, that's thousands of pieces of single-use plastic annually, from one supplier line-item most organisations have never examined.

PlanetSafe tags are made from durable wood-pulp material instead of plastic. Same durability in service, fully compliant with AS/NZS 3760:2022 labelling requirements, at no extra cost.

The core of it

What this gives your sustainability reporting.

An annual impact statement.

Every PlanetSafe client receives one: the number of plastic tags avoided across their sites that year. A specific, countable, verifiable figure — the kind auditors and report reviewers accept, because it describes an action taken, not an intention held.

A supply chain line item you can defend.

As climate-related financial disclosure obligations phase in under AASB S2 (applying to annual reporting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2025, phased across reporting groups), larger organisations are reviewing the environmental footprint of operational suppliers — and asking those suppliers for evidence. Electrical compliance is a recurring, portfolio-wide service. Switching its consumable from plastic to biodegradable is a supply-chain improvement you can document in one sentence.

Paperless, audit-ready records.

Digital reporting, digital asset registers, digital retest tracking. No printed reports, no paper trails to store.

The honest fine print

What we don't claim.

We say "biodegradable tags," not "100 per cent biodegradable." The tag face material is biodegradable wood pulp; the adhesive, like almost all pressure-sensitive adhesives, is not fully biodegradable. We think precise claims are worth more than impressive ones — to your reporting team especially, because imprecise supplier claims are exactly what greenwashing reviews catch.

Sustainability, answered.

Yes. The standard requires tags to be durable and legible for the service period and to carry the required test information. PlanetSafe tags meet these requirements.

No. They are our standard at no extra cost.

Yes — the annual impact statement is designed for exactly that, and we can supply supporting documentation on request.

It's evidence of a specific supply-chain action, the kind of measurable initiative that supports sustainability reporting narratives. Whether and how it appears in your reporting is your reporting team's call; we supply the numbers.
